I believe this tassel necklace was assembled from scraps - maybe a watch fob and some other period items? Can tell because the linking jump rings are all different colors. It has a very nice clasp. I don't remember where I found it except that is was cheap and filthy - green w/oxidation. Only did a minor cleaning which showed how pretty the chain and tassel were. When I came across the hair horseshoe charm I thought it would look perfect attached. Chain is 15" and drop adds another 3.25". Any other ideas of age or origin much appreciated. Thank you for any help.

The horsehoe is perhaps an example of mourning jewelry. Love the horseshoe!!
Oh, also love the entire necklace! : )
Thank you miKKoChristmas11 - I love that horseshoe charm. I was afraid I'd misplace it so put it immediately on the necklace. Thanks - when old items are just for me I put different items together. Quirky works for me!
