Here's a recent find by the wifey that has me stumped! It is a photo printed on thin paper displaying two men ~ one obviously Thomas A. Edison. It is signed on the front with a handwritten note on the back which reads (as best I can interpret) as follows:
"Thank you Miss Helga Green. You have heard my voice, and listened to my words - now here's my face. Not much of a face, but I have used it for 60 years."
I thought it was signed by someone named Fox ~ either Solomon or Sherman Fox. So I do some searches for permutations including Edison/Fox.... Do you have any idea how many results including "fox trot" come up when you do that??? Worthless.
So I tried to find a good discography listing Edison artists by name, but have so far been unsucessful. Anyone have a suggestion either for alternative names or a nice online resource? Or maybe you recognize the dapper guy on the left. You could cut a dollar steak with the crease on those trousers!
Ever so grateful for any help offered.
