I was looking through some smalls at the market the other day, and came across what I thought might have been a childrens toy or some sort of doll accessory item. Upon closer inspection I realized This was a "Real" shaving razor. I am assuming that this might have been something used in a womans makup bag. Possibly from the 30's-40's. the razor and case is bakelite. As you can see by the photos this is truely a miniature piece, compared to a dime to show reference to size. The guy only wanted a buck and I was in the good mood and said why not?
These normally exchange for around $5-$25 depending on condition and if the case or extra blades are with it. Im thinking of purchasing some blades and making it complete to the point it will have everything but the box it came in. If I can find one of those I will be the luckiest man in the world....lol I Love searching for small miniatures to stick here and there. They are normally affordable and fun to collect! Thanks to all who stopped by to look and love...

i would guess it was made for the female personification in mind also -- due to the name on it -- kewtie -- cutie -- not sure of the origin on the word kew -- but the kewpie doll was name for the mythical small plump little pixie

hi jay -- got interested in trying to learn more on this little "cutie" -- thought you might like this site of information on it

Thank you epson233 for including the link to that great history on how the Lady's Razor got it's start. It is facinating that fashion is what started it all. Makes perfect sense to me, I just feel sorry for the cowboys and their lady's back then. Im spoiled and of a different time, where we like our ladies smooth. Hard to imagine it any other way to be honest...Society wins again!:)
i know jay -- i thought we all shaved until i was over in germany during the 90s -- the european men still preferred their ladies with the body hair -- as they say -- beauty is in the eye of the beholder -- thought to myself perhaps they have better things to do than shave the legs and armpits and perhaps they were a whole lot smarter than us hairless little gals over here -- naaaaaaaa -- i still like smooth legs -- so i'll stick to the regime of the little kewtie
Dare I say it...I prefer the smooth ladies myself. Dont expect me to climb through the jungle unless you cut me a path....So I always say...:) Heeheehee
heeheehee yourself -- cut you a path through the jungle -- way too much saturday night live humor with that one
Yeah, you are probably right. I probably burned the ear hair right out of some of the followers. But I yam what I yam and thats all that I yam. :)
strange on the that statement -- used it a lot during negotiations with the vendors, debates, working with the crime lab etc etc -- you know my background -- it was my take a breath or ace card -- mine was "i am what i am and that is why i am" -- another take a breath stall that i used was
there is no answer -- the answer can not be found -- and that is the dang answer!!! -- that one would allow me at least 3 minutes think time to get into their heads as they mauled it over in their minds -- to negotiate glassware contacts with brockway -- wheaton or kerr
I am not as smart as you epson233, I was quoting Popeye the sailorman! Toot Toot! :) I tease!
yes i picked up on the i yam what i yam as the popeye saying -- disagree with the smartness as we all have our areas of expertise -- have a great day -- grey day here with rain coming -- which will be a good time to place fertilizer down for the roses and preem down for the weeds that like to grow around the iris and ground covers
