Not sure of the exact technical name for this item but I believe it was used to make the impressions into the mold for casting.
The Patent reference of "Hines Patent 8-26" may not even be close to the actual period of the piece as it is part of the mounting, which may have been around for considerably longer than the item itself.
Have not been able to find any reference sites on this piece and have no idea whether it has any value.
Would appreciate any info or direction to reference where more can be learned.

I would like to change the caption from "call box casting impression" to "call box mold casting die" Which is a better description.
