EXCEPT FOR THE PONTIL, WHICH IN BOTH PITCHERS IS POLISHED, AND THE KRALIK SEMICIRCLE MARK ON THE LARGER ONE, THESE PIECES WOULD APPEAR TO SHARE A MANUFACTURER.

HOWEVER, IN ALL OF THE PICTURES, A PRONOUNCED DIFFERENCE IN TEXTURE MAY BE OBSERVED: THE SMALLER HAS VERY DENSE "ICE" FRIT, WHICH THE OTHER DOESN'T. THE FRIT AFFECTS THE COLOR: THE SMALLER IS WHITE WHILE THE LARGE ONE IS TRANSPARENT.

THE KRALIK'S LARGE SIZE MAKES IT ALL BUT IMPOSSIBLE TO BE USED AS A FUNCTIONAL PITCHER, THE HANDLE ON THE SMALLER IS TWICE AS COMPLEX AS THE KRALIK'S.

POSSIBILITIES: A LOETZ DESIGN (THE SMALLER) ADAPTED OR EVEN SIMPLY MANUFACTURED BY KRALIK (THE LARGER). PLEASE SEE MY OTHER RECENT POSTINGS ON CZECH PITCHERS.

Is it possible that the smaller pitcher is one by Boston Sandwich?
  2. Alfredo Alfredo, 2 years ago
My point is precisely that it may NOT be Boston Sandwich which, as I have found out, is not a brand but a 5&10 store. Literally, The Boston Store in Sandwich, Mass. I even have one of their trade cards.

Alfredo, are you saying Boston and Sandwich or Boston Sandwich is not a brand name for glass? Just not understanding your comment...

There may have been a boston store in mass but it is not the same as boston sandwich glass which was indeed a glass company

I don't think they are responsible for these though. I'd love to (and will at some point) spend some time in the stacks at corning. I'd love to see if there are actual catalogs for american companies that have these same style shapes (ditto with the snakes and overshot that got attributed to Portland glass co in the past) Bohemia did copy american glass to some extent and american glass probably copied some bohemian. There are very similar products at times. (in particular harrach/mt washington)

But, I find myself doubting it with these.
