Moonstonel…
(156 items)
This is a double strand necklace I pulled apart what was attached to a 14k Deco etched double clasp that was broken. Each strand measures 18.5 inches and the other is 16.5 inches and all the Moonstone beads are in prinstine condition..and all have a beautiful blue adularescence and the faceted Amethyst spacers are very pretty. This almost has a blue/purple shimmer to them..with the Amethyst. I am about to redo the whole necklace and I bought this many years ago...now just getting to recreate the set...

Heaven with a clasp! : 0
miKKoChristmas11, Ok I have to confess :0 I had all good intentions of remaking this Moonstone necklace with a nicer clasp...but the strings are too short for my fat 16 inche Japanese/Russian neck! So these have been loose for about a year...and I don't like chokers! What is your advice :0
Finally! Something I know! I love old beads and have always collected them. Few years back I inherited the largest USPS priority box of loose antique beads from a very dear relative who had an antique shop. First I restrung necklaces to their original (and yes, some longer) for her grand daughters etc. I wanted to be as close to original as possible. I've posted some of those. I don't know how to knot yet so to add length I like to use the tiny size 15 or 11 French steel cut beads as spacers. You find them on old shoe clips or broken purses. They also come in bronze which works too. I am always looking for vintage beads for just this purpose. You could also use clear or milky size 11 seed beads between each to gives a little more length. The main idea is to let the beads shine on their own.
valentino97, Great idea!!!! Thank you!!! I love bouncing off good ideas..thats what I do for others...just mine are too close to me to fix :0 I will look into that and let you know what comes of it :))) thank you xoxoxoxo
birdie, thank you my friend :))
Oh, sorry, haven't been playing on CW lately! Thank you kindly for the compliment of eliciting my opinion! (First opinion: You do not have a fat neck!) I'm afraid I can't think of anything that wouldn't detract from the glory of the moonstones except to intersperse them with smaller moonstones. Or perhaps matte silver spacers? And, would a very fine transparent line be suitable for threading these? Gorgeous! Whatever method you choose, they will be glorious.
: D
miKKoChristmas11, WOW what a World of great inspirational to do's!!!! Love it!!! I will see what looks best and retake the pics as soon as I can muster up the courage to attempt to change these Moonstones :)) Thank you for all your LOVING!!! :)))
