inky, I love pins but they are not practical. I have shown pins that I would not alter...but some you can :( :) I know how you feel! I have had many years of not changing a thing on Antique Jewelry...and faced that situation many times...I feel its almost like defacing art. But if you don't wear pins or stick pins what do you do?
Don't laugh at this idea - but maybe you could design a sterling bead "stopper" that fits over that pesky pin end - and attach a bale on the other so it can be worn as both. Here's the laugh....I've done this last minute w/a pencil eraser so I wouldn't stab myself in the neck....ha, ha, ha!!! No one noticed. I'll post that agate pin.
