My father purchased this item at a garage sale having no idea what it was other than it looked interesting. We have since discovered it was some type of oil lamp. Have you ever seen one of this type before ? or does anyone know where we could find more information about it ?
Thanks ....

Victorian Oil Lamp with add ons, snuffer cleaner, so on. This is a nice one I would say 350.00 - 400.00 retail. Here is a link to lamps of the same era and style, like I said your is much nicer.
