This is one of the rarest Art Deco chrome and Red Catalin trim Toasters ever manufactured. Made in the 1930's by Superior Electric Product Corp. in St. Louis, MO.
This highly stylized Art Deco designed toaster floating on a tubular chrome frame is absolutely stunning. From its speed lines running down each side to its rounded & tapered edges and 4 bright red Bakelite stacked cylinder handles interspersed with chrome discs. The design is reminiscent of the Streamlined locomotives, ocean-liners and automobiles of the 30's. This was definitely a design made for the "kitchens of the future" during this era.
Toaster is stamped on the bottom "SUPERLECTRIC MF'D by Superior Elect Prod. Corp., St. Louis, MO. - No 66 Series 3.5 AMP = 110 120 VOLTS AC or DC".
This is the only one I have been able to own in 25 years of collecting Deco design.

Great toaster. I have the waffle iron
Hello and Thanks for the comment. I have never seen the waffle iron - does it have the same red Catalin trim?
The waffle iron does have the same Catalin trim. I can provide a photo of mine if you would be interested. The toaster is spectacular!
I want both the toaster and waffle iron! Wow.
This toaster looks like it just came outta the box. A truly superb piece. I love it.
I had a toaster just like that one. When my Grandmother passed away she left it for me knowing how much I liked it. Sadly our house was broken into and this is one of the things that was stolen. It is fun to see this one!
Very cool piece.. definately has that old but futuristic look to it..love the handles
never seen that one before....very cool!
I have a nice collection of old toasters but this one blows them all away - just a beauty!
Wow! Love the look!

one looks rare, desirable and absolutely beautiful, you are lucky
to own such a gem.
I'm curious, comment #6, who would break into someone's house and steal a toaster. That's funny!
