I believe this is a mother of pearl pendent. Does anyone think this could be hand carved? I think it is quite pretty, and overall it makes a really nice necklace. It just works for some reason.

Yes, it's probably hand carved or at least, hand finished, and comes from Asia, possibly Thailand or somewhere nearby.
