This is one of my favorite Dr Pepper items and hard to find. It measures 13 X 10.5 inches and in small letters center bottom of field it reads: The Meek Company Cochocton Ohio. Ufortunately, someone in the past added two holes for hanging. It has great detailed graphics of bottle and lion. Thanks for all the likes and love in advance!

Did you poste this in honour of Kevin?
    2. retroraabe retroraabe, 11 years ago
Blunderbuss2, I wish I could say I did but I don"t know the Kevin you refer to. Jim

That's AR89 & he is often referring to Dr. Pepper as his favourite. Another Texan!

Spent time in Austin during the early 1990s but not a Texan! I'm a Tennessean from Florida who lived in many states but still love the DP.

How long did they use the tagline "King of Beverages"?
    6. retroraabe retroraabe, 11 years ago
I've only seen it on early DP advertising, that I can recall, but I am not an expert. Maybe someone else out there knows the answer? Thanks for asking.
    7. blunderbuss2 blunderbuss2, 11 years ago
I spent some time in Texas but they finally had to release me!
    8. RussTenale RussTenale, 11 years ago
Excuse my thoughts, I only asked because it seems that tagline is used for an alcoholic beverage now, or a derivative of it.
    9. retroraabe retroraabe, 11 years ago
True! I believe it was close to Budweiser's tag line...King of Beers.
    10. blunderbuss2 blunderbuss2, 11 years ago
Russ, I think that is Bud's line, "King of Beers".

Oh, Now I understand. Thanks for clearing that up for me. At first I thought Dr. Pepper sold their tagline to a brewery. Sorry. I love the Dr. Pepper tray very much.

      Thanks Russ!

Dr. Pepper has made some major advances up north and can now be found here in Wisconsin restaurants and stores.

That many Texicans are moving to WI?! LOL

I believe the holes in the top of this tray are original. The one I have still has the chain attached. Really nice tray.

Blindorange, I was in contact with the curator for the Waco DP Museum and he stated the same. Could you post a picture of what the tray looks like with the original chain?
    18. blindorange, 11 years ago
retroraabe: Be glad to if I can figure out how to do it. I'm new to this site. Is there a way I can send it to you without posting it?

I have one of these "lion" Dr. Pepper trays in fair condition. A little rust on the front and back and no holes for a chain.

rustytools, I'd like to see a picture of yours. Never seen one w/o chain holes.
      Jim
