This beautiful handsewn suede jacket lives on my manikin (besides she's much smaller than me) so I can enjoy this old 70's treasure everyday. I recently found it at a Goodwill for $20. It is lined and beautifully made w/pinked detail edges on yoke, collar and pockets. White metal eyelets give a nice contrast. Satin label inside says FRANCA Hecho en Mexico, D.F. 30 years ago I had another one not nearly as nice but I sold it long ago. I like fringe - cowboy and hippy styles and have about 60 old 1940-70's sewing patterns that I've used in designs for myself and customers.

I added the last picture of me 1989 - tram to mountain above Palm Springs. LOVED this suede fringe jacket and I STILL wear sneakers like these....

I used to have one I really loved, less the eyelets. Just the smell when new, I can still remember !~Phil.

Thank you Phil - They smelled great until worn one too many times at the club where smoking was allowed (in all of them until the last 10 yrs or so!). I have a memory of watching an old Who concert....maybe it was Tommy - and Roger Daltrey had on an amazing fringed jacket and pant outfit. I was in love! Nothing cooler than 60's-70's rock musicians clothes. AND, I love the old 30's-70's cowboy musician clothes too.... Fun to remember.

Not a good item for kids however, too many people wanted to pull the fringes out. A friend had one, the kids were relentless. Never, ever, want to wear one to school.

True! So mean! I would have been pretty pissed off if someone pulled my old suede fringe.
