hi cw... I got this powder jar as a gift...as you can see by the pictures it is an icy green jade type of color but on the bottom there is an old paper sticker that says Italy.
I have posted this in the Italian art glass but I am not sure it is glass.
    update:
thank you to a very helpful cw member for the information regarding my un-identified powder jar.
the cw member informed me that it is made of alabaster from Italy and it was handmade. it may have been dyed the soft minty green color (most likely).
I am sooo happy to know what it is made of....lol...it doesn't feel like glass and now I know it is made of Italian alabaster.
I have typed 'Italy alabaster powder jar' into google and it showed me a lot of alabaster vanity jars and trays but none that look like my rose.
I will treasure my gift and fill it with scented talc so I can use it.
once Thank you for the comments and helpful info....love this site!

Nah, don't think its Italian, and its definitely not glass. Either jade or some hardstone dyed to simulate jade. Probably Asian

The Italians dyed, painted and enamelled almost everything, alabaster before it is polished can be porous, but it can also come in many different shades, some pieces are even mistaken for Malachite ?
Very artistic talented people the Italians, i mean i could be wrong, but in my heart i would say Alabaster.
