This is a very heavy, 52 inch tall not including shade, bronze, table lamp that is all original and complete except there are several small areas where the finish looks to have chiped off otherwise condition is excellent and appears original. It looks like it is very old. I bought it at a local auction. It is such an unusually beautiful piece, I would love to know anything about it.
I am grateful to PhilDavidAlexanderMorris for his identification of the item as a converted statue as on close inspection that is apparently the case. Even the bare metal viewed from underneath looks like it does have a high concentration of zinc.
