My husband and I took a trip to Bloomington, Indiana twice just to hunt for geodes. That has been about 4 years ago and think we're about due for another trip. These 3 are some of our best specimens. I call the one furthest to the left a coconut rock because that is exactly what it looks like.

I live in Iowa, and we have great geodes here. You should see the ones my mom has just in her yard. Every year she looks forward to geode hunting. Great pictures.
Thanks Mammi...I wish I would have known Iowa had geodes. We stopped off there on our way to see Mt. Rushmore in 2009. We spent a day just playing in the hotel swimming pool, though we would have much rather hunted for geodes. I will definitely have to research this for a future trip. Thanks again!
