Showing you 2 beautiful black celluloid plastic w/white rhinestone 1950's clamper bracelets. Yes - there's some missing or dark rhinestones on the striped clamper but the other is all there. If the item isn't perfect - I'll buy it anyway because I'm not perfect either.

I don't have any light pastel bracelets w/multi-colored rhinestones - not my style - but they are really lovely. These are often attributed to the maker Weiss - but mine don't have any markings. One picture shows the hinge which will help you determine age.

valentino97, I do the same thing! When I see something that I love but its not perfect, I would buy it anyway. Nobody is perfect!
Sometimes I restore it, sometimes I just let sit as it is.

The same 5-stripe clamper above just sold today on ebay for $56.00. I think I paid $5. and the large rhinestone was $20. a few yrs ago. Not even signed Weiss.

    I really love your bangles.
I got two black with white dot plastic bangles from my hubby, but I dont have a clue how to tell if these are old or brand new. I will post them later

Hi Val, they're very pretty. My mom use to buy huge lots of jewelry from flea markets and yard sales. She would keep what she liked then resell the rest and made big profits doing that. If I had the time *&* the space, I would do it as well. I will keep an eye out for things like this for you though.

Thanks Newtimes - look forward to seeing your bracelets. I wear these 2 a lot - even just black side up - one on each wrist. The shape is comfortable to wear - doesn't move around.

Thank you Miss Aim! You have inherited your love of vintage from your Mom?

Both of my parents liked second hand shopping. My mother's interest in antiques and vintage items were of costume jewelry and grandfather clocks. I've always been interested in vintage art, clothing, cookware, furniture, jewelry, etc. I have bought numerous pieces of antique furniture over the years. But never collected anything in particular until joining cw. My father was the one who brought antiques into our home, my mother didn't care for them. She ended up giving me a few of the pieces my father bright home for her. She leaned towards modern country. So I guess my love of the past actually came from my father. Sorry for the book. LoL

So great! I guess it did come from your papa. My parents enjoyed farm sales and bought some neat stuff: Stand up pianos, player piano and music galore, buffet cabinets, round oak tables, GAMES! old Chinese checkers, and wood games w/cool graphics, tin litho toys, electric trains!!! But NOT ONE piece of jewelry or glass or dishes or silverware. That has always bugged me because I always loved that stuff I saw at my grandparents and other old relatives houses.

Well... I keep telling myself that I am going to take a break. Then I find something else that I just have to have. "More like I want." LoL

I know what you're saying. I'm so afraid to start collecting something new and it will snowball out of control. I still have 18 home depot tubs of fabric to deal with...but jewelry has always been my favorite obsession. XO!
