1950's Stratton Compact. Royal Air Force Sweetheart compact with automatic opening powder holder. Small button on the back edge of the compact unlocks the powder tray as the lid is opened fully.

    Very nice. I have one from the U.S. Navy that my father bought at the ship store and sent home to my mother around 1942 or 44. Thanks for sharing yours.

    petey - It is nice to know that other wives and mothers got these. From what research I did on mine I found out that they were very popular with the ladies back then. I set mine aside to go to my grand daughter so it stays in the family. My mother just turned 90 and has a laugh when speaking of such things.
