"Nippon" means Japan, however Noritake adopted that name as their own, giving the impression that unless it had the Morimura or their mark that it want authentic.. I am still searching for the maker that used a crown mark.

      Found it!
Meito China- Nagoya Seito Sho Co.-Nagoya, Nippon ( Japan) 1908-21
A lot of the companies under the Noritake umbrella came from that same region.
It may be a relish dish?

I joined marks4antiques last year. I think it was around $ 100. Must have been a one time payment, and definitely well worth it. They not only have names, you can also search by symbols or countries, which was how I found you particular crown mark.

" In the 1960s, collector ranks swelled and demand for marked Nippon pieces vastly exceeded the supply. Thus arose the transfer (stencil) based fake Nippon mark applied by unscrupulous dealers to thousands of imported Japanese porcelain. This kind of marks can be identified by the mark being applied inside a glaze area looking a bit like a piece of scotch tape. The resulting flood of fakes became well known to dealers and the more knowledgeable collectors. The motive was money as it usually is and the confusion eventually dampened collector enthusiasm. " Found this website... Gotheborg.com...very interesting, after really looking at my piece It does seem to have that scotch tape effect on the back. Oh well if anything it will make a pretty jewelry holder
