Cobalt Blue Starburst Rhinestone Brooch ca 1950

This is one of my favorite rhinestone brooches. It has a large cobalt rhinestone in the centre surrounded by 'petals' containing 3 small rhinestones each on a pattern with a larger one one in the center and two smaller ones flanking the centre one. Behind the 'petals' are rays in a different orientation than the 'petals' - this gives the piece great 3 dimensionality. The brooch has no makers mark and has an older style C clasp, so it may be older than the 1950s. I think the setting is brass. This is a lovely piece of costume jewelry that is fun to wear - it looks great on the LBD.
