    this is same lantern I posted a week ago, just took better pics. It originated in Corry, Pa and was passed onto me by a friend when I worked on his barn, it was his uncles.

      I have a red globed railroad lantern, similar to this.

      Are there any initals on the metal, or etching on the glass? If yes, it may be a railroad lantern and worth more.

      yes it has PRR etched on glass and on top of lamp in the metal, it is an Adlake.

      Those were lanterns to mark that a crew was working on a train..Nobody woud move a train while those lanterns were sitting on the ties between the rails.
