I bought this wooden cigar box at an estate sale today. The box print reads Ott's famous Silver Ash Oldest Cigar Manufacturer on Long Island
Louis Ott & Son 86-12 Jamaica Ave. Woodhaven, N.Y.
Tel Virginia 6-9380 No zipcode no zone # no area code. The cigars sold for 10 cents and the bottom states the cigars were made to sell "at more than 8 cents each and not more than 15 cents each and are so tax paid."The corners of the box are rounded with dovetails and the bottom is secure with small nails.
The stamps are series 124 class E 50 cigars and the other stamp is from the Cigar Makers International Union of America A.F. of L.
Pretty cool. Anymore info would be welcome.

I live in the Williamsburg section of Orlando Fl. A lot of native Floridians refer to it as Little Long Island (lol). These subdivsions were originally 55 and over communities for snowbirds. About 12 years ago they amended their bylaws to allow any age to puchase homes in here. Consequently, there are still a lot of elderly folks that live here and love to do yard sales. Great hunting grounds!
I HAVE 4 good friends that moved down there about 10-years ago!i still talk to them and visit every other year or so-whats the best way to find the old gold!lol:)- there in the boyton beach area! i hit the porn shops for tools or rods and reels for myself! 1 time i went down there-saw a shop on the way to my friends house ask him to stop-we did-thay had 2 penn 50's on nice rods!(the big gold 1's!) i wanted to grab them/friend said you should look around a little etc"!! 2 days later went back with $600-to get both of them~~GONE!!!
