This is the opposite of the frame with the porcelain painting in my last posting. This is an Indian micromosaic, probably from the latter part of the 20th century, set in silver. This is a primitive random pattern of small turquoise and blue and green pieces set in some sort of dark grey cement (it looks like fine mortar). The ceramic pieces are broken rather than cut. The two sides are almost identical, and it is surrounded by silver but not marked. There is a loop and ring to hang the pendant at the top of the heart. I find it quite charming. Like others posted on CW, the mortar is fragile and falling out, indicating that it is not terribly well made. It has been suggested that this style of mosaic was made to look like Mexican or native American jewelry.

I'm afraid that it is not Victorian micro mosaic. Look very similar of mine:

I think it is Mosaic but from Mexico but neither that I'm sure!

Agram - I think you are correct - these do look very similar. Do you have any idea how old they are? I was mistaken because they came to me in a lot that was all Victorian pieces......I just made the assumption but yours is identical with the same colour, broken pieces and grey mortar!

Antiquarius123 to be honest I have noidea of the time period but it's defenitively old and just like my large round pendant!
