This is one of my $1 finds. It is mother-of-pearl and appears to be hand carved/hand cut. I have no idea where it comes from and how old it is. The chain has a mark on it but I cannot make it out.

Thanks for looking:)

Thanks Moonstonelover21. I have three girls in university/college. Once I am done with supporting them (although one is never really done supporting one's children), I'll have plenty left over to start collecting the real thing:)

    Also thanks to mustangtony:)

Could be 1930's but they still make them new. Its probably from Jerusalem.

I second Newtimes estimate -- I have seen a lot of the is kind of MoP carving come from Jerusalem and Bethlehem, mostly from the 60's and 70's. The same patterns were also executed in olive wood.

Thanks everyone for your love and information. I started collecting porcelain; I still do but there is a space limitation. For that reason, I looked and found a new passion: jewelry, mostly costume. I am not looking for the expensive items but rather for the ones with a story or some mystery to it, or just "nice" pieces. Thanks for helping me shed some light into the origin of this one. :)
