"The Slant Book", and indeed the shape of the book is slanted. Cover as shown in the first picture, the small print between the blue lines above the author's name reads "Patented September 20, 1910". The copyright page (as seen in the third picture) shows the copyright year and published year both as being 1910. Is this a first edition?
I wish I could post a 5th image of the back of the book, but alas only 4 photos allowed.

Holy moly!
The research I have done appears to confirm that the copy I have is a First Edition. Stay tuned to the Collectors Weekly blog page, this might become the subject for my next article!

I have the exact same book. I have had it all my life, it was in a bunch of books my mom had as a child. Was always curious about it. do you know of anyone who collects them?
Susan: Is yours the 1910 first edition? If so, it is rare and desirable.
I have The Hole Book by Peter Newell... it's also fun & fanciful!
