This watch is open faced, model number: 22546645, back cover screws off, inside back cover says Patented Mar1912. It belonged to my grandfather . Doesn't work at this time, but may just need a tune up. Interesting, winds at bottom near 6. The numbers are gold and raised.
What size is it? This appears to be a car clock not a watch.
Hi. I will measur it around. I have no idea...did Waltham make car clocks too? I am so "rooky" at this..but very interested in learning about the watch and its value, age etc. It is 8 3/4 inches around.
mine says 21449; same patent #; I opened it and hit it with compressed air and it started right up.
on the face is 'S.A.MacQueen Co.' - from Philadelphia

Walthum made many auto clocks. ... BTW careful with the compressed air. You could mess up the balance staff. I hoping you are talking about "canned air" which is not under that much pressure.

22546645 is the serial number. Go to the library and look up the serial number in the "Official" Guide for watches and it will tell you the approximate date of your Auto-Clock.
NAK ... yours is likely made by Walthum as well. They made them for other companies that merely put their labels on them.
The give away that it is an Auto Clock is the winding stem is in the 6 o'clock position instead of 12 o'clock.
The wheel that is exposed (showing) ... if you give the clock a shake with the wrist, to make the wheel move, does it go back and forth for a while, or does it seem loose?
Can you wind the stem? If it is to tight to wind, then it may be over wound. In that case just lightly rotate the clock with wrist motion keeping the wheel going for awhile. If it is over wound, it likely will go back to working.
yes - sorry- canned air as for dusting off keyboards. mine does say Waltham on the front - thanks for the tip re researching the serial #.

According to this table, the serial number 22546645 that you provided dates it to circa 1883.

If you input the serial number into the NWACC database, it indicates it's a Waltham Model 1910, open-face, 7-jewel, with Brequet spring:
