Purchased this one this week on eBay and tracking says it's in town but depends on postal carrier weather I get it today or Monday. Was real good price because listed as soapstone which is the same thing only Shoushan stone collectors are not generally watching soapstone listings. has a couple scratches, looks old for a shoushan, Large 10" and has writing on a scroll. Carved with designs both sides. Anyone know what it says?

Hi Papa, very nice additions to your collection, this and the soapstone in the next post. This is the Chinese star god Shou with some of his attributes, the domed forehead, the child at his knee, and in his hands, the peach of longevity (is there more than one peach?). The symbol on his right knee is his name, Shou.
    Regards, Jim

Thanks Jim, looks like two peaches, don't know till mail shows up. Tracking says it is in town but might not show up till Monday. Less then a carton of cigarettes. Sure glad I quit both smoking cigarettes and drinking alcohol or I would be broke all the time.

It arrived, new photos, seller was off on measurement close to a foot tall on stand; heavy rock too, not like soapstone. Heavy like marble. Only flaw is a couple scratches on fingers or carvers mistakes. Has some age to it.
