When looking through all kinds of beautiful and interesting pieces on CW I saw Moonstonelover21 had placed a white horse painted by her mother on CW. A beautiful painting. Then I fell suddenly the agreements of her and me. Because ... here you see a painting made in 1957 by my late father Steven of two black horses for a hay wagon. Moonstonelover21's mother paints as my father did (he deceased in 1992). She is a passionate jewelry collector like me. She is a professional Shiatsu masseuse in my profession I have also exerted some massages.
    Our similarities are so numerous.
I wonder how she think on these simularities and also what do you think of this horse painting?

I absolutely love it! My great-grandfather was a painter and decorator too. Unfurtunetely, I lost all of his paintings - long story; I was born in East Germany.
Enjoy this great and meaningfull piece. I am sure there is an interesting story that comes with it. :)

Most beautiful and heart-felt rendering of these horses!!! Are these Friesian horses? So beautiful! Exerting themselves to pull a heavy load? Very fine rendering of the hay, too. One looks at this, and one is present with them in the warm, sunny field. We would love to see more works that your father painted if you have inclination to show them! : )

      Hello Mikko,
Thank so much for your nice compliment. Painting was a hobby of my deceased father (1992). I think he certainly had talent for this. A talent that I inherited from him. But unfortunately what I do and have done too little. Like other family members I have some of his paintings in my possession. Very dear to me as a painting he made of my son, now 36 years ago and also a drawing when I was still a little kid (1946/1947). I will show these but under a different heading I suppose. Since I'm now looking for. In any case I am happy with your nice compliment and it is in this painting are ment to be indeed Friesian horses. My father was a Frisian. Friesland(Dutch name) is the name of a northern province in my homeland. In this province, my father was born. When he was 11 years he moved with his family to the south of our country where I was born, raised and still live.
A very nice weekend, all the best, hope you again soon "meet".

Agram, thank you very much for your very thoughtful comments. I'm sorry to respond so late, but I have been away for a long time. This is a magnificent painting!!! Encountering it again, it takes my breath away just as before. I don't think it's possible to be casual about this painting. Now, I shall go inspect the portrait of your son. : )
