This was given to me as a gift from an antique shop that was going out of business. This clock measures 5.5 inches in height. It was made in Germany and the face of the clock has the name "Lord". There is a heavy formed ornament on the side that looks like silver and it has a cross on top. This ornament is bolted to the base of the clock mantle. It is wind up and I believe it has an alarm that can be set. I've searched and searched for information on this clock and I continually come up empty.

Well the piece on the end looks exactly like a "king" from a chess set. Lord would be the makers name if it's on the face. I bet it was used to time chess games. Does it have a any other buttons to stop the clock like a stop watch? If not it still could be related to the game of chess somehow. Maybe a trophy. -Mike-

I just realized chess timing clocks have two faces one for each opponent.. so scratch that idea. Still might be a trophy though.

Wow Mikelv85 - you are so very astute. The side piece does look like a chess piece - never even crossed my mind. That gives me another avenue to look at. Thank you for the information.
