I WOULD NOT NORMALLY BUY THIS KIND OF MATERIAL, NO MATTER WHO MADE IT, EXCEPT I FOUND THEM ALL TOGETHER, ON A BIN, AT A VERY AFFORDABLE PRICE.

THIS IS A SET: TWO ADMIRALS AND TWO GENERALS, FROM 1944. LEYENDECKER'S CAREER WAS IN OPEN DECLINE. HE NO LONGER HAD A RELATIONSHIP WITH THE SATURDAY EVENING POST, AND HIS STYLE HAD FALLEN IN DISFAVOR. HOWEVER, HE STILL CONTRIBUTED TO THE WAR EFFORT, FOR WHICH HE HAD PRODUCED SOME OF HIS MOST ICONIC POSTERS.

1. ADMIRAL HORNE

2. GENERAL PATCH

3. ADMIRAL STARK

4. GENERAL VANDERGRIFT

IRONICALLY, THESE MILITARY HEROES WERE AMONG THE LAST TO JOIN THE LONG LIST OF "LEYENDECKER MEN".

PS: WELL, GENERAL VANDERGRIFT WON'T BE ARRIVING. THE DEALER WROTE TO SAY IT HAS BEEN LISTED BY MISTAKE SINCE IT HAD ALREADY SOLD AND REFUNDED IT!
