    It is reportedly from Austria, dating from the 1920’s. I am not sure if this is based on fact, or because it brings to mind the Secessionist styles of that time.

    Yes, those do appear to be grapes, and I love the contrast of the round base, yet corners as the vase grows. The jug ears are a great touch, and I think this vase is a lot of fun, with perhaps too many features thrown in for it to be a serious piece ?

    I'd love to know who made it, where, and when they may have done so. I can't help feeling that it was a holiday souvenir.

    It is 145mm high, and 73mm in diameter.

    There is some text on the base, which I think is visible in the photograph, but for clarity’s sake is the “printed” number 14518, with a “T” hand painted.
