This is not glass, it is stoneware with a jasper slip dip by Josiah Wedgwood & Sons. They are usually underpriced at eBay, look at some good dealers' sites, try alexisantiques.com, we have some in stock I think.
Forgot to say, it is called a biscuit barrel, the Brits call what we call cookies, biscuits.

Leslie is great! She's a very experienced Wedgwood dealer who is generous with advice and answer questions clearly and promptly. You can learn a lot on her site and be amazed by the extensive line that Wedgwood produced.
