Picked this up this clarinet at an auction and need to know how to put a value. My extent of knowledge on instruments was already surpassed when I was told it was a clarinet. I'd appreciate any and all help. Thank you.

Boosey & Hawkes-lower intermediate line (probably student model.) If you look at the serial # (probably around the thumbrest area in the back or near the middle joint, imprinted into the wood) and google it, you should be able to narrow down when it was made. Judging from the case, my guess is 30s to 50s (somewhere thereabouts.) It looks like it is wooden (as opposed to hard rubber, which they also made.) B&H is general is a decent horn, they have a pretty good tone, English bore, quality woods used, etc. The mouthpiece is after-market Selmer...nothing special...pretty normal stock for that era. I am a clarinet player and dabble in collectibles/research but am no expert, please please take what I say with a grain o'salt. ;)
