I've recently started hand sewing my own teddy bears, making them out of mohair. I incorporate vintage buttons, sometimes for their eyes instead of vintage glass eyes. I love the different kinds of old buttons. It's such fun to go through a jar and find some treasures.

button button -- who's got the button -- i'm with you -- love to go through old jars of buttons -- when we had the fire in the house last week -- i was walking though to see what the salvage people where keeping and tossing -- about crapped when i saw my two tins of antique buttons in the garage pile -- needless to say -- they got a quick lesson on antique buttons and their value -- about loss $2000 worth of collectables

Thank you, epson233, BELLINI68, mustangtony, and PhilDavidAlexanderMorris. Epson233, I am so very sorry to hear you had a fire in your home. I hope no one was injured. Did the buttons escape harm?

everyone is fine -- including the cat -- posted the pics of the fire on this site -- i swear i must have a fire dragon on my tail this year -- walked into the inn last night where the insurance company has placed us until sept and the room was full of smoke -- the cleaning ladies decided to clean the oven -- in which i had stored potato chips, chocolate covered pretzels and some carmel popcorn -- the room still stinks and i have asked them to fumigate it today while we are at the house -- buttons are stored and safe -- have a great week

I'm SO glad everyone is fine, including the cat! How tragic to have this happen. I cannot believe the cleaning staff did not check the oven before turning it to cleaning mode. That is really poor and dangerous, to say the least.

Glad the buttons are safe. You have a great rest of the week, too. Take care and no more fires! ;)

no more fires is right -- was doing some cleaning last night on some canning jars that i had brought back to the inn -- wondered if i was really that sloppy in washing and rinsing prior to placing them in the dishwasher -- the garbage disposal decided to poop out -- mopped up the floor and called maintenance -- room now has a new disposal -- good lord i hope this little gremlin that likes me sooooo much finds someone else to pick on -- as it is starting to wear a little thin -- enjoy your weekend also

Ugh. That is awful. This doesn't sounds like a very nice inn, epson233! Better days are ahead for you, I am sure.
