Planter's Peanuts was founded in Wilkes-Barre, PA, later was acquired by Standard Brands, and now owned by Kraft, these images are of the original headquarters of Planter's Peanuts.
Sadly all that remains is the facade of the office building (first image), and that is in danger of collapse. On the lintel of the building can be seen in high relief "Planter's Nut and Chocolate Co."
A sad ending to a locally conceived and long time part of the community.

And, to answer your question, the photo was taken in 2006, shortly before demolition began. And the building itself is from around 1925.

You are welcome, Eye...I, too, have an interest in architecture, and am especially fond of the grand old buildings.
At some point, I'll post some of a majestic Art-Deco style Telepone Company building that I have images of.

I forgot to mention that the fence posts fronting the administrative building were once topped with 2 foot (60Cm) cast iron Mr. Peanut figures. There were about 12 of these statues, and most were stolen, as a few have been seen in private collections and in museums.
