I picked this vase up yesterday during our Saturday garage sale ventures and I had no idea who the Designer of this vase was but after looking him up on the web, I was quite impressed with this find. The unique color and shape had drawn me to it.
Rene Roubicek was born in 1922 in Prague, Czech Republic and studied at the Academy of Applied Arts. His interest in glass started in 1947 and he became a leading figure of Czech Art Glass. He won many awards for his creations including the Grand Prix at the World Exhibition in Brussels in 1958. His works are in Museums throughout the world and displays of his work were at the Montreal World Exposition in 1967 and in Osaka, Japan, to name a few.
Since 1950, he has worked with the Moser and the Skrdlovice Glassworks.
I'm not sure of the production date of this stunning and glowing light blue vase that measures 5 5/8" tall by 5" in diameter. If anyone has catalogs of his works, I'd appreciate finding out more, thanks, RER (BOB) LOUMANAL

Hi Loumanal! It's Skrdlovice. 1985. 8524/15. There were four different sizes I think and this was the largest of them. Done in different colour ways as well. Gee and brown cord, mottled red and clear cord and clear with blue cord.
