Rare Limited Edition Zebco 33 50th Anniversary reel This reel was not readily available to the general public. It comes on a wood display base.It has the brass plate with the dates 1949-1999 and their logo for the anniversary 50 years of "Teaching America to Fish". The reel is the size of a regular zebco 33. It has wood handles with l"imited edition" on the crank. Tons of engraving and 24kt gold accents. The whole top of the reel is engraved with the logo, date, "Teaching America to Fish", and a fishing scene with and man, a boy, and a girl. They are holding fish with a beautiful lake and mountains in the background. The engraved top is accented with gold to really set it off. It was hard to photograph and the pictures do not do justice to the detail and intricate work that went into this reel. There were only a 1000 made this is 607 does anybody know anything about this reel thanks Robert

My family has Reel # 699.
My grandmother worked for Zebco's North American Distribution plant, and while working there, they sent a care package to my father's unit stationed in Iraq. So my father sent them back a thank you letter, along with a flag that had been flown over the base there. When he came back, they threw him a welcome home party. While there, the Zebco president presented him with it. I believe it was 2006 or 2007, so he must have had it for quite a few years.

I worked at Zebco in Tulsa, OK when these were produced. Most of them were sold to employees or given in appreciation for service. I actually have one with the COA.
