By "CORD car" are you referring to Auburn, Cord & Duesenberg?
  5. SEAN68 SEAN68, 1 year ago

I had a number of letters from Auburn, Cord & Duesenberg awhile back that was giving away to people I thought might appreciate them. A guy I offered one to who had a "Boat-tail" Auburn turned it down because they were dated 1934 or 5 because he said the company was defunct. I was offering for free and if his ego hadn't been so large, he would have known that they sold parts for yrs after going defunct. Go figure! The letters concerned a crack in an Auburn alum. head too.

Forget your medication SEAN? LOL. Actually an interesting bit. Found the alum. head hanging on a nail & the letters near by. All the communication was about a hairline crack around a spark plug hole. All the letters from A.C. & D. were put back in the envelopes with the stamps on them(about 10-12). Even in about 1970, I thought it was neat to have this stuff with A.C. & D. letterhead. Friend who collected cars & had a "boat-tail" was glad to get the head & a few of the letters & of course the alum. head could be repaired by that time. A.C. &D. were one of the 1st to use alum. heads.
