    Purchased at an antique auction...just trying to find some history because when I saw the old shipping tag- I was curious as to how old this was....Embossed with grapevine tin....missing handles, front lock seems to not be all there, but very awesome piece....Bare wood on the inside. Can't find a mark anywhere. Thanks!

      I would guess the hardware end caps for the handles are cast iron. If this is the case then the date would be the late 1800's before the cheaper stanped metal became common. It is beautiful. The Cunard shipping stamp is quite interesting and I wonder if this is European made.
