This is my second Loetz elephant. My previous one has seen better days, as it has some damage. I spotted this one and decided it would be a good replacement for the imperfect one. It is 10.5 inches long, by 7 inches high. The tail on the green one is reeded, whereas the clear is smooth. Both are marked with the post-1918 acid etched oval "Czecho-Slovakia" mark. They are either from Series III, or else they were Commissioned pieces.

I just added a photo of a third elephant, in crystal Martelé, which will be yours very soon Alfredo.

Very nice one, Dave. I would not have thought Loetz immediately until I saw the oval Czech mark. Different in the best way. Something new everyday!

They are in the line drawing book, 1892-3 Series I, Prod. Nr. 4821, and identical to this, but this is obviously a reissue of the old shape.

Thank you, Sean. I have it sitting on the table below the flat screen so I can look at it during commercials, lol.

I'll move the old one to the "for sale"pile. I don't have room to keep both of them, they are fairly large.

I mentioned the size in the description above. 10.5 inches long, 7 inches tall.

Thank you, Kerry. It is definitely a cross-collectible. Lots of people collect elephant figurines. I don't collect them, really (well, technically I do, I own 3 of them, and 3 make a collection). The other elephant is a fairly large Van Briggle one, in Ming Turquoise.
