    This belongs to a friend. It is large and bulky. Someone told her they think it is a grain separator. Any ideas.

      Looks like a fanning mill, used to clean the chaff from the grain. Can you supply some more pictures?

      If it will remove seeds from ganja fast, you could sell it & retire.

      Wooden, hand-operated fanning mill, a device used by farmers to clean grain, with original paint and pinstriping, made in LaPorte by the E.F. Michael Fanning Mill Company in 1883

      There would have been a hand crank on the metal shaft, to run the fan.

      walksoftly, I can take more photos on July 14, when I visit her again. Thank you for the link to the nicer one with the pin stripe. Her's isn't quite as sharp as that.

      blunderbuss2, I had to google ganja, so I suppose it would do the trick, and my friend would love to sell this and retire! LOL
