I recently located an item that have no idea what it was. Upon further investigation, I discovered that it was it is a Uanghuali screen with what I believe is newspaper. Possibly from the Mimg dynasty, the wood carving has great colors with matching patina due to its age. Rarely seen for sale, this type of Ming dynasty furniture especially in precious Huanghuali wood is rarely in the market. This is a really high end Chinese antique furniture for displaying in the home or collection purposes.
I have yet to get a correct translation of the newspaper.
Therefore, that being the case, I welcome any and all information pertaining to these images. Thank you much....

The text was set at a weird angle in the wonderful frame as you show it in picture 1. It has been moved 90 degrees to the left. It strikes me that if that was the original angle given the shape of the frame then it was padding for a missing item. Perhaps a textile?
If you move the second picture to the right 90 degrees then it is correct. Pix 3&4 are upside down. A Chinese expert can then read the text. Beyond my very basic knowledge of Hanyu.
