These Photo's are of the train I lived by .The RR tracks were so close the train shook the house when it went though . I had a original Sign from a Milwaukee Road which I gave away years ago and wish I had kept .
Here are some Photo's of the early train . 2 are taken as they passed through my town . Photo 4 is first time train reached my town . 3rd photo is how it looked when I lived near lake nearby the town I am in Now .
The train no longer runs it was closed down 1980

The Chicago, Milwaukee, St. Paul and Pacific Railroad (often referred to as the Milwaukee Road) (reporting mark MILW), was a Class I railroad that operated in the Midwest and Northwest of the United States from 1847 until 1980, when its Pacific Extension was embargoed through the states of Montana, Idaho, and Washington

    Thank you Phil , Yes much history as the train evolved . I was sorry to see Milwaukee Rd close . It was first train that ever stopped in our town . Thank you again xoxo

    LOOK at the SIZE of that lamp on the front of the oldest one!! Wonder if any of those beauties survived the war metal drives?

    Hello Mani: I worked for a short line, but never the Road jobs (:-D). As loud as our Horns were, you could have heard us down here in Texas from your House though !! !! (:-D)

    I was wondering inky. Don't you love that head lamp? Must be 4'+ tall. Surely brass but how to display something like that? What are you doing up so early or so late?

    Yes! I do looove every little piece of this machine, it's beautiful!...and to hard to work back 18 hours from now to figure out what time it was then...lol!... need a cup of tea first as first thing here..now!!...:-)
