    Hello All,
I picked this up a few months ago,....loved the portrait,( Raphael? ), and thought it was a handsome object framed. I haven't taken it apart, so I was hoping that someone on here might recognize this form of bisque porcelain portraiture.
The bust alone is approximately 4+1/2" inches high
    ring a bell with anyone?
    Thanks for taking a look,
    Tony.

      Is it Cristoforo Colombo?
      American interest?
Might be onyx too, even glass forms are known: cast glass by James Tassie c.1800 are amazing.

      Check out this listing:

      Thank You Kevin!
I hope your Winter has been kinder to you.
We've had heat wave after heat wave,.......pretty awful.
Should break by the week-end, we'll see.
I hope that even the thought of it is a comforting warmth to you.
      Tony.

Kevin, I just got your comment. I think you're right,....it must be Cristoforo!
I also wondered if it might be a carved and not a cast piece,.....you may be right there, too!
Thank You for giving it some thought,
      T.

Hi Tony. It's going to be 72 degrees here is Sydney. Too hot for winter! It's 63 degrees at 9.30am. Global warming is a reality here too! I'm not a sceptic on the issue! I saw that the temps have been in the nineties: Very Familiar territory Down Under.
By the by, if it's Columbus it looks like and idealised portrait, no?

Hi Loumanal! No, not I. In Australia the Knights of Columbus are known by a different name ... The Knights of the Southern Cross. My father was a life long member and had lots of drinking mates according to my Mum. The family had strong connections with the Knights. I however was something of a 'lost soul'.
