I took to metal detecting in the backyard of my new house. I uncovered 4 hits, most what looked to be "junk". After removing the dirt and grime I realized it was an old nail. I remember hearing about nails in colonial America. That they were very hard to come by, and when someone's house burnt down because of a fire, people would go through the rubble and pull out all of the handmade nails to use again. I am wondering what everyone here thinks about the shape of this one. Thanks!

Looks like one of the hand-made roll-your-own to me.
