I would like to find out as much as I can about this ceramic urn. As you can see it is beautifully decorated. I was first told Japanese origin, then Chinese. Any info would be appreciated.

There is a lot of newer stuff coming out of S.E.Asia and it is difficult to really attribute a country. If it was an older item, I assure you that the gilding on the feet would be very worn. The mottling on the main body of the urn is not something you see on older pieces. It is still a fine decorative "ORIENTAL-THEMED" item. RER (BOB)

Satsuma? The figures certainly look Japanese rather than Chinese to my eye.

I was told it was an antique Satsuma temple urn by a very reputable dealer/auctioneer.

It could well be.....I would research it well. I know that recently at flea markets we see a lot of stuff from S.E.Asia that "dealers" are passing off as old and rare. I will keep watching this upload to see what others are saying. I am NOT an expert of Asian antiques. BOB

Saw a similar one on tonight's Antique Roadshow evaluated at over $6,000 dollars. If you can go to their Web Site, you will find more info. on it. Good Luck! BOB
