The puffy sleeves on the women's dress's, seems to be 1890's style.
I don't think I've ever seen such exaggerated images or writing in advertising, hard to believe but as always advertisers knew their target audience.

it's difficult for me to put a 'love it' on such overt racism, but it is interesting in a historical context, and i don't think it would be good for us to forget about how black people were [and still are sometimes] treated by white society.

I understand but look how far we have come, We will never forget how we were portrayed, It just shows me how strong we are to continue on and not forget ! to live in this world as a human being and not Worry about being Judge by other people there is only one person we have to answer to. Thx. For your Comment ho2cultcha!

LOL @ ho2cultcha's comment being "racism". This is a GREAT piece and part of classic Black Americana. I have several original and extremely rare Minstrel pieces that are spectacular and only duplicates exist in the Library of Congress. Black Americana is HIGHLY collectible and are amazing pieces! You are lucky to have come across this piece. Good eye!
