In the early 60’s, my Dad and I, well, mostly my Dad, I just got in the way, built a Cabin Cruiser Boat. I remember pre-drilling maybe a 1000 screw holes while he used a Brace Bit to counter sink and install solid Brass screws of various sizes. He did this with a slotted bit quickly and efficiently. I still have his Brace Bit and have used it myself on a few occasions.
