Hello, I need help!!!!!
I found this chair in a house attic over looking the Hudson River (NY) about 35 years ago as I stated. It was in a pile of chair frames, about 100
different styles, it was pretty amazing, but I must add the house was built
around 1880. I have been looking for the last 6 months on the computer
to not avail, reason being is it American or European, I really don't know
where to start, please. Someone told me it was a Louis and I said, Louis
who, but many people who see it know it by sight but cannot tell me any
History on it except that it is old.
CAN SOMEONE HELP ME
Thank You, and have a Great Day
Dennis

It looks like it could be Empire from France or England I would think it is Honduras Mahogany it would be worth reupholstering. The finish looks great if you clean it with restores-a-finish mahogany color the finish will look like new. And you would have a great looking piece.
