this i believe is a Victorian era brooch because i do know the older brooches have c clasps. it has an amethyst eye and is silver

    The C-clasp doesn't always indicate age, and I think that's the case here. What is the mark? 925? 830? 835? That would help to identify it. Also the stone in the eye looks red? Its probably a garnet if so. Amethyst is purple

    Sometimes C-clasps are just simpler to produce

    Yeah they do, they're easier to make so they usually use them in places like Thailand. This kind of motif really wasn't used in the Victorian era, or the manufacturing techniques either. I don't think its extremely old, older than say 1940 or 50 or so
