This Center Handled Server by the Central Glass Works of Wheeling WV, dates circa 1920-30's and is made with Black Amethyst Glass. The decoration is un-named and consists of rich gilding in a multi-winged like MOTH design and with gilding on the handle. The "Glass Etch & Pattern Gallery" shows a handled sandwich platter with the same decoration. It is a very busy and almost Art Nouveau style decoration. Thanks for looking, RER (BOB)
